KHP were tasked with creating a VIP media event for 
Seef Mall expansion inauguration and 10 year anniversary celebrations
31/01/08, Kingdom of Bahrain: KHP Middle East produced another spectacular event for one of the most prestigious properties in the Kingdom of Bahrain with the official inauguration of the Seef Mall West Expansion.
Opened 10 years ago, the spectacular growth of Bahrain’s economy and population has seen the Seef Mall become the focal point of the country. Currently the Seef Mall draws up to 35,000 people per day during the week and as many as 70,000 people per day during the weekends and public holidays and in the autumn of 2007 an all-new west expansion was added to the iconic architecture of the building.
KHP was commissioned by Seef Properties to create a spectacular celebration to officially inaugurate the new expansion and celebrate the 10th anniversary of the mall. An opening ceremony, presided over by H.E. Dr. Hassan Fakhro, Minister of Industry and Commerce, preceded a dazzling array of talent performing in the social centre of Bahrain.
Heading the acts and entertainment for the celebrations was Australian violinist Sophie Serafino. A star performer in the classical music world, she came to the Seef Mall having toured London, Amsterdam, Paris, Rome, Istanbul, Casablanca and Los Angeles to unanimous acclaim.
Celebrations continued with Veniamin the Human Slinky amazing visitors of all ages. Just like the evergreen toy ‘Slinky’ Veniamin creates a colourful and comical high-energy illusion using his entire body. Joining Veniamin in the world of colourful dance was the stars of the 2006 Bahrain Grand Prix entertainment – the Spirit of Fire dancers. A special indoor show had been devised by the pyrotechnic troupe of international and Olympic athletes, visual artistes and technical experts in order to light up the night at Seef Mall.
Another visual feast came courtesy of ‘Art Collide’. A distinctive Red Bull VW Beetle cars was redecorated in the Seef Mall by an urban artist whose blend of graffiti and modern art represented contemporary Bahrain and the evening’s entertainment.
A highlight of the festivities was a giant balloon drop. Many of the 300 stores in the Seef Mall contributed special prizes to be attached to some of the balloons such as vouchers and special offers. These acts together with face painting and other family activities ensured a memorable night for all at the Seef Mall.
Reflecting on the event, Abdul Mohayman Al-Sayed of Seef Properties said: “It was a tremendous array of entertainment for everyone and reflected the cosmopolitan atmosphere of Seef Mall. It was artistic, refined and vibrant – a reflection of our visitors from Bahrain, across the GCC and around the world.”
