Yalla Bahrain 2007

2007 sees KHP Consulting continue their relationship with the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix. Once again under the patronage of the Bahrain Economic Development Board a stunning array of events will be organised to support the 2007 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix under the now familiar title ‘Yalla Bahrain!’

RubensAmong the highlights of 2006 was the Yalla Bahrain! F1 Festival, which bought more that 20,000 people thronging to see Porsche Michelin Supercup, Lumina CSV V8 and a host of other racing machinery on the streets of Manama. Elsewhere in the calendar, more than 5,000 Bahrainis took home autographs from Jenson Button and the Scuderia Ferrari drivers, while Rubens Barrichello opened the fantastically popular Motorsport Art Exhibition in the Bahrain National Museum in the presence of His Highness the Crown Prince Shaikh Salman bin Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Yalla Bahrain! is a cry of encouragement that rings out whenever the Kingdom of Bahrain takes its place on the world’s sporting stage. There can, therefore, be no more fitting a title for the dazzling array of events that will be carried out throughout the month-long build-up to the 2007 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, all of which will be organised by KHP Consulting.

Following a successful debut of the event last year, the glittering Seef Mall will once again offer the opportunity for Formula One fans to meet one of their F1 idols at the Yalla Bahrain! F1-to-One autograph session on February 23. This year fans will have the opportunity to meet Austrian Christian Klien, Formula One driver for Honda Racing.

F1 football fever
One of the all-new Yalla Bahrain! events takes place on February 24 – the first of two Public Days during the Formula One test – when the Formula One teams meet the Bahraini national football squad and a host of other teams from Bahraini schools and businesses in the Yalla Bahrain! F1 Football Fever five-a-side soccer tournament. Also attending will be successful professional Bahraini footballers Tahlal Yousif & Sayed Adnan.

F1 in Colour
Acclaimed Bahraini artist Abbas Al Mosawi will direct a monumental Bahraini art challenge. 100 canvases will be distributed to local schools, universities, businesses and social clubs, each with ‘paint by numbers’ drawings to be completed.  Launched on March 15, some chosen canvases will then be erected in front of the public.

F1 Zone
The start of the Formula One season in Melbourne will coincide with the Yalla Bahrain! F1 Fanzone in central Manama (March 16-24), a great opportunity to experience life among the teams during a Grand Prix weekend, with interactive racing games, a replica pit stop and a host of attractions from karting to drift racing displays to get everyone in the mood for the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix – and coffee and shisha areas to wind down in.

F1 Drift and Movie Night
March 30 will see the Bahrain International Circuit opened up to the public for the Yalla Bahrain! Drive-In Cinema and Drifting event, a spectacular mix of two of the most popular pastimes in the Gulf: good movies and the tyre-shredding spectacle of highly-tuned cars hitting impossible angles at full throttle.

fireworksF1 Street Carnival
On Friday 6 April the Yalla Bahrain! campaign will hit a crescendo with the F1 Street Carnival on the Manama Corniche, with cars taking part in the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix weekend being joined by the cream of the region’s drag racing talent to perform for a huge audience in this free-to-attend spectacular before an enormous barrage of fireworks lights up the sky to begin the week of the 2007 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix.
