MasterCard - in-market exploitation

MasterCard set KHP the objective of developing F1 themed initiatives for use by Mastercard’s local operating units to support the business objectives of card issuance and card usage. KHP worked with a range of regions to deliver this objective.

One example relates to Malaysia, where KHP devised a programme to encourage use of the card in the region, including Singapore and Hong Kong. Spectators were encouraged to buy GP tickets with their MasterCards and would then get a significant reduction on price. In Argentina KHP created a programme using the incentive of GP tickets to drive card issuance. Fulfillment took place at the Argentine GP where a dedicated MasterCard grandstand and reception area was the focal point for the activity. In addition shirts and caps were given to all attendees creating a strong visual image in the grandstand.
