2009 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Having played an integral role in the planning of Abu Dhabi's inaugural Grand Prix at the stunning Yas Marina circuit, khp worked closely with a number of public and private sector organisations to deliver a multi-faceted campaign promoting the event to domestic and global audiences.

‘Your Gateway to Racing Hearts’ campaign transformed Abu Dhabi’s 4 airports into a visual feast of F1, with activity that included:

sand sculptures of real size F1 cars

graffiti artists tagging giant canvases with F1 imagery

a video installation broadcasting the glories of F1 past and present

an experience zone where travellers could try driver training techniques

The ‘Yasalam’ pre-Grand Prix programme, designed to help local people connect with the sport and the forthcoming event, included:

film shows and live events with local artists painting a replica F1 car

a 2 day ‘Mastering Motorsport’ seminar for a thousand students

school painting, photography and creative writing projects

Entertainment in the vending area during the Grand Prix itself included:

a human beat-box artist and breakdancers

football freestylers, jugglers and extreme skipping performers

graffiti artists personalising t-shirts for the public

a lively kids area and equally popular adult chill-out zone
